  1. Shanballa Castle was built by one of the Butlers of Ormond. It is a very old building. It is in the midst of a green field , and has two round towers. It was built in the fifteenth century. The ruins can be still seen.

    Rockwell has got its name from the Rock and the Well that is beside it.

    Rockwell has got its name from the Rock and the Well that is beside it. In the year 1920 when the war was on the soldiers tried to do some damage to the College, but were prevented as the Statue of Our Lady turned right round and protected the College.
