- "Chimney Making"
25 - 5 - '38About forty years ago, when the people were (would be) making a chimney they used to make an open fireplace and put a beam across it. Then they used to build the chimney the height of the thatch with yellow clay and mud, then they used to weave the rest of it like a basket with sallys.Nellie O'Connell, Fethard St.

- "Basket Cradles"Basket cradles were used up to about twenty years ago. They were made from sallys like an ordinary basket with a canopy at one end. They were supposed to be very safe for children as they were only a couple of inches from the ground, just the depth of the two rockers which were placed one at each end.Eileen O'Brien, Compsey.
