- Festival Customs 22.6.'38St Stephen's Day - It is customary for all the local boys to disguise themselves in ragged clothes on St Stephen's Day. Some days previous they hunt the wren from hedge to hedge to have it for this event. Then they cut a holly bush and tie the wren to the top of the bush which they dress in various colours. When all is prepared, they dress up and start off with musical instruments of every description. They go around to all the houses and sing the wren's song and dance to the music.
