Immediately two birds flew around in a great rage. He came up out of the hole and while doing so the sand slipped when he took it up again the pot had vanished.
Here is another thing that happened on our land in a field near the main road.
One night a voice came to an old pair living in the field saying "come out and take what is under the 'Bitling Stone'" There was a big rock near hand which they called the "Bitling Stone". That stone is not to be seen to day.
The same thing was said three times and they did not go out. In the morning when they went out there was only a half penny under it.
