    There is a castle in townland, built by the English and from this castle the townland got its name. There are many old people living there in this district there were twice as many houses as there are in it now. There are twenty eight houses in ruins now with only the walls standing. The people emigrated to America from here, left their houses and sought their fortune in America.
    Some of the house land is hilly, some boggy, and some good. There is a big wood growing there called Cappa Wood. In former times the wood was big but it was burned down. It is about a mile in length. There is the river
