    heard that the man was after killing the pig and they planned to steal a piece of meat out of the chimney. They got a long piece of wire and tied a crook to the end of it. Two boys went up to the chimney while two more watched the door.
    The two up at the chimney put down the crook to catch the meat but there was a pot of water boiling over the fire and instead of catching the meat he caught the pot and hauled it up. When the woman of the house saw the pot lifting she nearly fainted but her husband seized an ash plant and the boys disappeared from the house quicker than they had come.
