  1. The following poem was given to me by John Noonan Ayle. His brother Con Noonan, now resident in Boston, composed it. Before emigrating he was at Business in Dublin. The poem is in praise of his native Tipperary.
    1.
A place there is in Ireland
    A place endowed with fame
    Whose name is highly honoured
    Tipperary is its name.
    Away from it I wandered
But where so ee'r I roam
    That name I'll always cherish
    Of my native Irish home
    Chorus
    Down in sweet Tipperary
    Where the fields are green
    Down in sweet Tipperary
    Where beauty is always seen
    A fond céad míle Fáilte
    Is always to be found
