  1. The people in Ireland long ago had three meals a day. They were the breakfast, dinner and supper. The breakfast consisted of potatoes, milk and porridge. The dinner consisted of potatoes bacon and cabbage. The supper consisted of potatoes and milk and porridge the same as the breakfast. The breakfast was eaten between five and six o'clock the dinner was eaten at twelve and the supper was eaten at eight. The milk they used to drink was skim and thick. They used to get up at half past four and work in the field or gardens for an hour before their breakfast. They used to sit around the table in the centre of the floor when eating. They used not eat any bread except on Christmas day and every man used eat a dozen eggs on Easter Sunday
