- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)captured earlier that evening in Moorefort near Lattin and for which they had only a few rounds each of ammunition. Tom Crowe and Kiely mounted the roof first and broke two large holes in it. Then they escaped down the side and on escaping form the building to take cover Crowe was wounded but not seriously. They threw large rock on the roof some of the police were injured in that way. The police thought then that the attackers had no guns and came out to drive them away. The attackers bided their time until six of the police were out and then opened fire and wounded four of them the other surrendered and gave up their guns. The Sergeant and the others who were inside refused to surrender and when the Fenian scouts reported that reinforcements were coming from Tipperary town the attackers had to leave.
