is in Cooney's land in Golden Garden. They are within a few miles radius of each other. Many strange tales are told of those forts. One story is that the Carews wanted to build a house at one time. They began to draw sand from the fort but every time a load was brought the fairies came and took it back to the fort again.
They had to abandon all hopes of ever getting sand there and had to draw sand from a local sand pit.
People never interfere with forts in the parish as they believe in the existence of the "Good people."
The Banshee is said to frequent those forts. She is an old woman who comes and cries at the funeral of people who live to a great age especially the Ryan Whips, Kellys and Briens. She is said to be dressed in White and wears a long white veil and is seen to be combing her hair and crying in a lonely manner.
