    1. Long ago landlords held sway in Ireland. They used to rack-rent the people for no reason whatever. If a person did any repairs to his house he would have to pay extra rent.
    2. This is bhow Maude got the large ranches of land. The ancestors of Maude were purveyors of food to Cromwell army and the latter had not enough of money to pay them so he gave them land in exchange which was taken from the O Dwyers of Killnamanagh.
