- As Mary + Joseph went out walking one morning
They met cherries and apples growing on a tree
Mary asked Joseph so meek and so mild
To give her a cherry as she was with child
Joseph said to Mary so meek and so mild
"Ill give you no cherry till you tell the father of your child".
Out spoke our blessed Saviour from under her womb
"Bow down gentle tree till my mother pick some."
The highest branch in the tree bent down to her knee
And Mary picked cherries both one two and three.
The next day Mary took the Baby on her knee
And asked the Babe how the world would be
The World is sinful and sinful twill be
Since the walls of the city voted against Me.
On Spy Wednesday great pains I will take
On Good Friday I will die for your sake
On Easter Sunday great wonders you'll see
The sun and moon dancing in honour of Me.- Informant
