Spinning wheel used extensively in this parish.There are some spinning wheels still in use.There was a linen wheel used in nearly every house in Kilmaley-not in use now at all-The last weaver Pat Hunt died four or five years ago.The reaping hook is not used very much now.Mould used for making candles
up to 50 years ago .If a sheep died the tallow was made into candles.There is a mould still at Haugh's Lismulbreeda, Darragh.People used to dip rushes in Tallow ,let them cool,and then use them as candles while having supper.
Slivers of bog-deal used also.(continues on next page)
