On Easter Sunday morning each man used to eat 4 eggs. Some men used to eat 8 eggs. Some men that I know in this parish eat their Easter eggs on Easter Saturday as a cure for a toothache. A special cake was made for Easter Sunday and meat was always used on this day.
The Tullassa people used to kill a gander for Easter Sunday as the goslings used to be big then.
On Christmas eve sweet bread was always eaten for supper and again on Christmas day. Every woman got a Christmas box and a big sweet loaf, or barm brack from the shopkeeper. On(continues on next page)
