  1. There are a great many animals in the country. I only know a few and these are the cow, the horse, the calf and the sheep. A man in town has four cows, their names are the black cow, the blue cow and the Kerry cow and the strawberry cow. The cows are nearly always reared in soft marshy land, and also the calf, but the horse and the sheep are reared in the fields.
