    Long ago when a girl was to be married she was often brought away in the night by another suitor and held in bondage. She used then be threatened and persecuted until she would give in and marry her captor. It was a very brave girl that would not give in.
    Any person found guilty of that crime was hanged.
    When a wedding feast is celebrated in the night the people usually dance and out in the night the straw boys come in. They are dressed in rags and tatters. When they have a set danced they go out again. Some of them have hay and straw inside their clothes to put on bended shapes so that they would not be known.
