In Crowley's farm about a quarter of a mile from Doolough School is a rude structure supposed to be the remains of "Leaba Diarmuda agus Gráinne". It consists of three or four standing stones but the top stone is knocked off two of the standing stones. - Forts are few and scarce in this locality. There are about six in all. Three of them are built in view of each other. About a quarter of a mile from my home is a fort supposed to be connected with a cave over in Kanturk by an underground passage. This Fort is situated on top of a hill. There is a large Rock in the side of the hill supposed to be the entrance to the tunnel.
A field called "Páirc a' Bhullaín" is near this fort. It is said that famous hurlings used to take place in that field. One day a hurl was taking place there. The Dennys were on one side and another team of the locality in the other. Amongst them was an(continues on next page)- Collector
