- There was once a wise man named Fingas who lived on the banks of the Boyne. This man wanted to catch a fish "called the Salmon of Knowledge". Fingas caught the salmon. He felt the salmon on the pan & left a youth named Fionn to mind it. He told the boy not to touch it. After a while a blister rose on the salmon and the boy put his thumb on it to put it down. In doing this he burned his thumb any day Fionn wants to know any Knowledge he put his thumb in his mouth
