  1. My grandfather told me that about sixty years ago, there was a celeberation in our Parish called the pattern. It usually took place after the harvest. There would be one man selected as the lord-mayor and he rode a donkey with a straw rope saddle and bridle. The mayor would also carry a large bough of a tree on his shoulder and this bough would be hanging with cakes of home-made bread given by all the large farmers of the parish. First the prossesion would go to the cemetery and offer up the Rosary for
