- Maiden Tower is in Morningtown. It got its name from a maiden who lived in it. She was about to be married when her sweetheart had to go to war. He told her if he was alive that the captain would hoist a white flat and if he was dead he would hoist a black flag. The maiden watched for his return while she sewed on top of the tower.
