    1. When the sun goes down pale into a black cloud the next day will be wet.
    2. If the sun rises very red in the Autumn and Winter except in frosty weather, that also is a sign of a wet day.
    3. Another sure sign of rain is to see the fowl gathered up in a bunch picking themselves.
    4. When the crows go home flying low and swooping in the air it is the sign of rain.
    5. When we see the soot falling down the chimneys it is a sign of rain.
    6. If you see stars shooting across the sky or sheet lightning is a sign of showers.
