    in July you would be married under the cloud of death, and it is those months that are said to be lucky. Wednesday, Tuesday & Monday are said to be lucky days to get married on, and Thursday, Friday & Saturday are unlucky ones.
    In olden times it was the custom for the bride, and bride-groom when getting married on shrove Tuesday to have an apple sliced in the middle on the morning of the wedding. Then shake a pinch of salt on the sliced part of it, and if the sliced part of it turned black it denoted a very dark future, and if it turned white they'd have a happy future. It is also a bad sign of the wedding pair for crows to light on the house before they
