    soldiers and they went away and the girl got safe.
    Since that the Cruice family had a heron for their crest.
    To the right of this old ruin, there is a moat in the shape of a cup and saucer. There are three ditches plain to be seen and there are traces of three or four more.
    This moat is about one hundred yards round at the bottom.
    It is very flat on the top, but there are old weeds and old nettles growing on it, which is good cover for the rabbits that burrow around it.
