told by Dan Kelly Baltrasna Oldcastle Co Meath aged 52 - A funny story
Once upon a time there was a man and he had a dog and when the man went for the cattle in the evenings, and when the cattle were passing one bye one into the yard the dog would bark at every cow or calf so the man would know that he had them all, but one evening he barked a bark to many so the man said that he was not minding his business and so he hit the dog for it and said he would drown him, so at that very moment the dog ran into the house and dipped his tail in a can of cream and ran off to the field at the house and came back with a calf sucking his tail
