    Our holy priests and blessed monks,
    This monster did destroy,
    We were all so persecuted,
    In King Pharos days,
    And to chastise those wicked crimes,
    God drowned them in the sea.

    When you kneel in deep devotion
    Remember noble Dan,
    That gallant Liberator,
    That set free our native land,
    He gained the emancipation,
    And he set old Ireland free,
    That we can build our chapels high,
    In spite of tyranny.
