- (continued from previous page)day. It was an old custom to set oats on Good Friday as they say it would yield far more next time and no one would think of setting any without getting it blessed. Oats set after Good Friday was called 'Cuckoo oats'.
- It was a custom in olden times for people to churn some milk on the first of may no matter how little it would be. They would also make a ring of hazel rods and put them on the handle of the dash churn on the first of May. Another custom was to sell no milk of any kind on the first of May. No matter what price they would get for it, that it all should be churned. In olden times it was considered unlucky for to buy any kind of goods on the 30th of September.
Another custom was if any kind of an animal died on a Thursday such as a cow, or a horse, it would not be buried for four days. There is also certain days(continues on next page)- Informant
