   Once the Holy Family were passing through a desert. There were a lot of spiders' webs on the sand. As they passed through they knocked down the webs, but no sooner had they gone than the spiders built up the webs again so that when the Jews who were following the Holy Family, to persecute them, came along they did not think that anyone had gone that way. Since that day it is said that a spider is a lucky creature and that he should not be abused.
