Informant - Mr James Bruton, Ringtown, Castlepollard. - Our churn is about two feet high and one and a half feet long. It is like a short barrel with the two ends closed and a hole in one side and two feet on the other side. It is twenty five years of age. The names of the various parts are dash, handle, lid and plug.
The butter is made twice a week in Summer and once a week in Winter. It takes about twenty minutes to churn.
The dash is turned until the cream is broken, then it is rocked to gather the butter. The butter milk is drained out of the plug hole and the butter is then taken out(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
