- During the Big Wind great damage was done to fish and boats on lake Derravaragh. When people went down to the lake in the morning they found that several dozens of fish were blown up on the Faughalstown shore. A turf cot was blown across the lake from Donore and even when it reached the shore it continued to roll up the field. Everybody was surprised to find that after all it went through it remained undamaged.
Several other small boats were smashed against the shore.(continues on next page)
