- An Old Story
Told by: Jim Lee Rathbaron
Written by: James Lyons, KinnegadAt the time of the rising in '98 there was a woman living at the railway beside Neills bridge. One day a yeoman went in to light his pipe. When he had his pipe lighted he began to question (to) the woman. The woman began to take out the ashes. When she had all the ashes out she put back the can in the ash pit.
The man stooped down to look at the can and the woman got a pot stick and killed him. She dragged him out and buried him and there is a mound of earth at the railway line and it is called the Saxons Hill.- Collector
