    a little flour added, salt and carraways and it was wet with a small drop of new milk.
    The following ingredients were used when making Boxty bread. Raw potatoes were grated. Then they were put one side for some time until they formed water. This water was drained off, and what remained was called 'starch'. Flour was added to the 'starch', and some salt. Then the mixture was kneaded and put on a 'griddle' to bake.
    The following were used for making Oaten meal bread - Oaten meal, salt and soda, wet with water, and left standing before the fire to bake.
