- In olden times people ate three meals a day. The meals were called breakfast dinner and supper. People worked in the morning before having their breakfast. Potatoes were fried and eaten for breakfast and dinner. Poridge was eaten for the supper. Cows milk and goats milk was drunk. The tables were hung against the wall and people used to sit around them on blocks and round stones.
Oaten meal bread and potato bread were eaten. Vegetables were eaten also but very little meat. Long ago people would not eat late at night. They new a heavy meal taken then was bad for the stomach and very often gave them nightmares.- Bailitheoir
