  1. Conor Mac Nessa was king of Ulster about the time of Our Lord. He was wounded in battle. The brain-ball slung by an enemy - a hard pellet lodged deep in his forehead and remained fixed there. The doctor Fingen said that the brain-ball in the king's head could not be removed without danger to his life. He said that King Conor Mac Nessa would live long to rule over his people, but he was not again to lead
