Thomas Barty, Wooddown age 60, tells the following incident.
As he was returning from town with a priest to attend his father the horse stopped suddenly. The priest told the man that if he looked between the horse's ears he would see what it was frightening at. The man was afraid to look, he then got down off the horse and lead him by.
Mr James Bierne's field at Wooddown there is a field out of which one cannot get after dusk even though one is quite familiar with the lie of the field and the direction of the gate.
