    Hay ropes are used in the country mostly as its hard for the farmers to get hemp robes always to buy. They use them to tie cocks of hay for fear the wind would blow the hay away also as langans for tying goat's legs prevent them from rogueing. They make spainseals for donkey's legs also and make garters for their own legs. These garters are worn outside the trousers when mowing or reaping.
    A twister is got and a bit of hay pulled from the cock and fastened on to the hook. There are
