  1. In old days it was considered unlucky for the people of the house if a visitor did not leave by the door by which he entered. Sometimes he was politely called back with "Come this way."
    If a person called to the house for a loan of anything while a churning was in progress it was considered unlucky to let him have the loan lest he "bring the butter off the milk".
