    One night three men went rambling to a neighbour's house.

    (continued from previous page)
    men put the sheet around him and sat at the gate. In a few minutes the man who had stayed in the house came up the road. When he saw the white object moving about the gate "ah" he said and he tightened and buttoned his coat and he took to his heels. The other two men could hear him running and pounding up the road. They heard him raising the latch of his own door and falling in.
