  1. Local Song

As through Rathaspire town Seame on one fine summer's evening

    The Flower of Sweet Lisderry
Air "The girl I left behind me"
As through Rathaspic town I came
    On one fine summer's evening
I met with a handsome youthful dame
Her hair on the breeze was waving
To a man who was quietly standing by
    I gently put my query
And he told me she with the winning eye
Was the Flower of Sweet Lisderry
    II
Her modest look and genial smile
Her eyes so bright and beaming
Showed a young heart quite free from guile
    And native on her gleaming
She quite enamoured my poor heart
With her laugh so sweet and merry
But without a word I had to part
With the Flower of Sweet Lisderry
    III
It was not to her laugh so sweet
    I fully owed my capture
But her beauteous form head to feet
And the loveliness that enrapt her.
For I have travelled Erin o'er
    Both Dublin, Cork and Kerry
