  1. Composed by Michael Reynolds (Micky) Ballygeer Johnston's Bridge Dromod Co Leitrim (Farmer) Still and Poteen Maker - died Jan 1880 or 1881 aged 70

Boxty bread took its head and travelled o'er the nation
Until it came to Micky Reynolds and there it took its station
And when Pat Foley id came in and see the boxty making
He'd say "God bless your work Miss Catherine
For I see that you are grating"

Pat Foley a labouring man - very fond of boxty
Miss Catherine - Catherine Carty a servant employed in Reynolds

    "Pride of the River Lynn
Oh no kind sir I'm a country girl
My occupation is to sew and spin
And I daily labour for my bread
    Down by the River Lynn

Portion of song composed by Barney and Edward Reynolds, father and uncle of Mickey Reynolds mentioned above. The Pride of the River Lynn was a Miss McGarry a next door neighbour. The Lynn is between Ballygeer and Cloncumber - it is a name give to part of the River Rynn draining Lough Rynn into the Shannon. The Black River joins the Rynn here.
