- There was a very severe snow storm in the year 1893. It began to snow in the beginning of February and the snow was on the ground St. Patrick's Day. It snowed for twenty four hours and the snow was twenty feet deep in places. There was a lot of animals lost, nearly every man lost two or three of his animals. A lot of people gathered together and shovelled the snow off the roads. The big drifts remained in places for six weeks.
