    goes along the middle of the drill and the mould board shaves the potatoes out. The farmers children usually pick them. The potatoes are put in pits and the farmer covers them with turf mould to keep the frost off.
    The best known potatoes are the black champions, old champions, british queens, kerr's pink, sharps express, epicures, may queens, G. Scott, Leinster Wonders, Aran Victor, Aran pinks, Kerry Bliss, and Aran Chiefs. The champions and the May Queen grow best.
