  1. Lord Castlemaine and Mr Longworth were the local landlords in this district. They were looked upon as good landlords. The families had been in the land for over two hundred and fifty years.
    There were some evictions and the evicted people went to America.
    The land is divided up among tenants now, since it was bought over by the Land Commission when Lord Castlemaine went to England; but it was not divided before then.
    If the farmer had too much land he gave some of it to his son.
    The landlords exercised power over the tenants and punished them for small things.
    Tithes were collected in this district. Money was given as tithes.
