- Old people tell in this district in olden times there lived a very strong man who figured in many daring exploits until he came to an untimely end through his adventures. He went by the name of the "Bullie Bannon" At one time he killed a ferocious bull. He happened to get into the field where the bull was when he was taken by surprise having nothing to defend himself with but a stick. After evading his charges for some time he was able to grasp him by the tail then he lay on him with the stick around the field until he lay down, the bull never stood on his feet again.
