    It is considered unlucky to sow potatoes before the 17th March.
    Some new potatoes should be sown on Good Friday.
    Dirty water should not be thrown out at night lest it be thrown on the fairies who are passing. If it must be done one should say: "Out of the way, here's dirty water!"
    The water in which feet are washed must never be thrown out at night but left till the following morning.
    It is unlucky to cut a sod in a fort.
    When walking out at night one should walk on the centre of the road, and leaves the sides to the fairies and to the Holy Souls.
    A, "goosheen" that is, a first year goose, must not be allowed to hatch if there is a mare and foul on the farm
