- About sixty years ago a funeral was taking place near Ardagh, not far from my Grandfather's home.
One of the men following in the funeral was riding a horse. The priest who was accompanying the funeral, noticed something peculiar about this horse. He said to the rider, "Nicholas, get rid of that horse as quickly as you can".
He then made the sign of the Cross, in front of the horse's head.
And as the man was riding in at his own gate, the horse stumbled over something, fell, and broke his neck. It was understood, after that, that the horse was possessed by an evil spirit.- Collector
