    7. How we are cold our hearts are chilled
And how the ladies laugh and fool us.
Our hearts with love may warm and fill
They're the darlings that will cool us.
and so they did for when we came.
The shore for landing was too shallow,
We kissed their hands, they did the same
And waded knee deep into Callow.
    8. They came back and we ran on
Cold and hungry in a fright sir
We sent our hearts o'er the Shannon
And that's the way we spent the night sir
But till my latest breath is gone
Wherever I may be a rover.
With memory fond I'll think upon
The night that Miss McGrath came over.
