    tanner. They called a shilling a bob and they called a pound a quid. The markets were held on the market square.
    There are hucksters to be found in the district still. It was called to a man with a small shop or gathering eggs. Peadlers go around on bicycles selling cloth. Those people still peadlers and hucksters The hucksters are called egglers.
    Story
    A man named Patrick Egan wanted a small poney to go under a trap to bring him to Mass. At that time there was a large collection of tinkers in the Turlough, and someone told him they had a small black poney. He came one day and gave a large sum of money for him. He was very proud of him. One day there was a shower of rain and he went out to bring in the poney. When he reached the field it was not a poney but a big grey ass. The ass was polished and the rain washed it away.
