  1. Two priests were hanged during the Penal times by Lord Annally Gore at Tinelck parish of Carrickedmond Co Longford and a chalice was found there five years ago. There is a Mass Rock in Edward Yorkes fort of Breaney Ardagh Co Longford. Mass was said there in penal days. There is a footstone also in the fort marking a grave and there is a fish pond also at the fort. Long ago in this locality the Priests used to say Mass on the hill-sides or in forts. Some of the Catholics used to keep watch to see would the soldiers be coming, while the Priests would be saying Mass, as the churches had been knocked down by the
