    He took lodgings at the same house as at first and when the people seen the hen they got very fond of the boy. They put him in a lovely feather bed and the hen beside him. When the people of the house got the poor boy asleep they put an old hen in the good hen's place and took her. When the boy went to his mother he told the hen to lay her eggs but the hen would not lay any golden eggs. So the mother was very vexed and told the boy that he was a fool. All the boy said
