- Mickey White resided in Clooncoligan in the County Longford portion of the parish of Bornacoola. One night as he was returning from Ruskey he encountered a 'spirit' at Aughamore. The 'spirit' requested him to name a place of 'rest' for him. He ordered him to lie between the foam and the water of the Shannon until the Day of Judjement. Since that night the ghost goes away to the Shannon screaming. Nobody has ever seen the ghost ever since.
